How To Play

Participants adjust their positions using the shift and arrow keys on their keyboard to slide tiles with numbers written in them through the grid. When two tiles with the same number come into contact, they merge into one tile of greater number than the two. The final goal of the game is to create the 2048 tile, not overfilling the board which would mean there are no starting points left to create moves to continue playing and ultimately leading to “game over”. Important strategies consist of placing the highest numbered tile in one corner and planned moves to barbarically maintain open merge positions. By evaluating the consequences of the moves made in the game, players are able to avoid boardlock, advance through the tracks they are on and improve their game-solving skills.
